Pilates is an amazing way to connect your mind, body, and spirit while bringing strength and health into all aspects of your life.

How it started.
I found my way to Pilates in 2010 while searching for ways to strengthen my body and improve my connection with myself. I tried gyms, yoga classes, and kickboxing and while each of these modes was useful in one way or another, something was missing. During my very first pilates class, I found the joy and connection I had not experienced since I was a dancer in my youth. After that, I was hooked. I attended classes at Evergreen Pilates as much as possible while advancing my career in horticulture. Pilates helped me gain strength for my job, get in shape for my wedding, rehab after car accidents, as well as postpartum recovery. It also helped with stress management and brought joy from being part of a welcoming and supportive community. Since then, I dreamed of someday sharing this life-changing method with others.
After moving to the Arkansas Valley, a series of events led me to pursue that dream. I graduated from the Advanced Teacher Training Program (950 hours) from The Pilates Center of Boulder In December of 2022. I am passionate about teaching people in all stages of health and life the benefits gained from practicing this wonderful method. Pilates is an amazing way to connect your mind, body, and spirit while bringing strength and health into all aspects of your life.

Classical Pilates follows the exercise system created by Joseph Pilates, originally named Contrology. All of the exercises are designed to be full-body, which allows for a more balanced approach to strengthening. Our focus is always using the original exercises, on all apparatus, to work towards uniform development, and overall optimal health and well-being of clients.

Joseph Pilates said: “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you’ll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you’ll have a whole new body”. In my experience, the overall feeling you get from practicing Pilates is more than just what your body may feel or look like strength-wise. It is an invitation back into your body, to get to know it, and learn what it needs on any given day. It is a practice to continue because there is always something new and exciting to learn about yourself and what you can accomplish. In more physical terms, it helps with balance, strength, uniform development of muscles, better breathing, circulation, and detoxification. These benefits are not just felt in class; you will also witness a sense of ease in everyday tasks and while participating in activities you love.

Pilates truly is for EVERYBODY. You do not need to be an athlete, and you can have injuries and limitations while still reaping the benefits. I strive to use the method for the body in front of me; making adjustments and suggestions to balance and strengthen my clients individually. Each day your body may need something different, and we will always work according to that with your end goals in mind.

Pilates is a great method to prevent injury since it is low impact and is designed to strengthen imbalances in the body. It is also useful in rehabilitation after injury for this reason. Each exercise can be modified to help an area heal, while still adding strength to the body overall. The focus on breath is also important as it optimizes circulation to promote healing.
